Chico Dojo prides itself in teaching the art of
karate. Our dojo is a fun family environment filled with
self defense techniques and confidence building attributes.
Mike Evans has been training in Okinawan Karate for over
29 years. Rod Brayfindley trained at Chico
Dojo under Mike Evans until he had to leave to
start a new church. With the support of Chico
Dojo, church and family he opened his own school.
Now he is a third degree black belt with over 150 students.
His love for the art hasn’t stopped him from making
it to Chico Dojo even from 250
miles away. Chico Dojo and MicKenlyville
Dojo have made many trips with students and teachers to
Okinawa to train with Grand Master Nanabu Ahagon at his
school. In April of 2004 Master Ahagon came to the United
States for the third time to train with Chico
Dojo. He also visited the McKinleyville Dojo as
well. The Dojo being as family oriented as it is usually
plans at least one trip a year to go camping and boating
on the lake or river rafting. Chico
Dojo also enters many tournaments enjoying the
aspect of fun competition. |
